Perched atop Hamilton Heights, the iconic building at 1 Hamilton Heights Drive in West Hartford has a storied past. Originally constructed between 1905 and 1908, it served as Mount St. Joseph Academy, a Roman Catholic girls' school operated by the Sisters of Mercy, until its closure in 1978. Recognized for its Colonial Revival architecture, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
Today, this historic edifice houses Aviva West Hartford, a senior living community offering independent living, assisted living, and memory care services. Embracing both its rich heritage and commitment to community engagement, Aviva is proud to announce the opening of its new community store—a space where history and modern living converge.
